Let’s Talk Tea: Why I Don’t Sell It (But I Sip It All Day)
🫖 Let’s Talk Tea: Why I Don’t Sell It (But I Sip It All Day)
Confession: I’ve never been much of a coffee drinker. If I do have one, it’s iced with a splash of protein shake — but that’s a whole different blog post. For me, it’s always been about tea.
Tea was my cozy go-to back when I lived up north — especially on cold, gray mornings when I needed something warm in my hands and grounding in my body. But lately? Tea has turned into something deeper for me. I’ve started blending my own herbal teas — not because I’m an expert (yet), but because I’m curious. Because I’m fascinated. Because I’ve completely fallen in love with the idea of using plants as gentle, nourishing remedies.
Like many others, I’ve been drawn into the world of apothecary living — the idea that simple rituals, like sipping a warm blend of nettle and hibiscus, can support your body in ways you feel, even if you can’t quite explain them.
🌿 Why I Don’t Sell My Blends (Yet)
If you’ve ever messaged me “Do you sell your teas??” — first of all, thank you. That means a lot.
But no — not yet. And here’s why:
Selling herbal blends, especially ones meant to support the body in specific ways (like balancing hormones or calming the nervous system), comes with a whole set of legal and compliance rules. There’s a reason you don’t see “Luteal Phase Tea” at your average grocery store.
I believe in doing things the right way, not the rushed way — especially when it comes to wellness. So for now, I’m keeping my blends personal and sharing them here for inspiration only — not for sale.
🍃 My Current Go-To Blends
I’m working my way toward becoming an all-day tea girl — morning, afternoon, and night. Here are two blends I’ve been loving lately, depending on what my body needs.
☕️ Iron-Rich Luteal Phase Blend
This one supports me during the second half of my cycle — when I’m craving something earthy, grounding, and gently supportive of my iron and mineral levels.
Ingredients:- Nettle leaf
- Raspberry leaf
- Dandelion root
- Yellow dock root
- Hibiscus petals
- Hot (single serve): 1 heaping tablespoon of the dried blend steeped in boiling water for 10–15 minutes.
- Sun Tea (big batch): A generous handful steeped in a 64 oz mason jar of water, left in the sun for a few hours. I store it in the fridge and sip it iced throughout the day.
It’s tart, earthy, and kind of addictive once you get used to it.
🌙 Cortisol-Calming Night Blend
This one’s for when I want to soften into sleep, shake off the stress of the day, or just quiet my mind (and my cortisol).
Ingredients:- Tulsi (holy basil)
- Ashwagandha root
- Lemon balm
- Chamomile
- Passionflower
- Skullcap
- Lavender
Usually 1–2 teaspoons of each herb, depending on what I have on hand. Steeped long and strong — sometimes covered with a plate so none of the goodness escapes.
The ritual of making this blend is half the magic. The other half? The way I feel about 20 minutes later.
🧘♀️ A Quick Note Before You Brew
This isn’t medical advice — just a peek into my own rituals. I’m not a certified herbalist or licensed anything (yet), just a girl on a journey who believes in the power of plants. Always check in with your body and your practitioner if you're unsure, especially if you’re pregnant, nursing, or taking medication.
🌿 A Final Sip
I may not sell these blends (for now), but I’ll keep sharing what I’m learning, loving, and sipping right here in The Nourished Journal.
This is where I’ll pour the parts of my story that don’t fit neatly on a label — the rituals, routines, and remedies that make up this wild, intentional life I’m building.
Thanks for being here.
The kettle’s calling again — catch you in the next post.
